Alternative Drying Methods
- Batch Drying - Dryer loaded and dried (usually overnight)
- Semi-Continuous Drying - "Dry" Trolley out, "Wet" trolley in-on a continuous basis
- Prepared produce is packed onto trays that are then stacked onto trolleys.
- Trolleys are wheeled into a tunnel on guides and the drying process is started.
- Batch process - After a predetermined time (usually overnight) the process is stopped and the trolleys and the trays are removed.
- Continuous process - After a predetermined time (approx 3 Hrs), one trolley is removed (Dry) and another (Wet) is wheeled into the tunnel.
- Site Requirements are:
- Covered shed with a concrete floor
- Water supply
- Electrical supply
